Last year, MG announced the first electric roadster car offered in Malaysia, the MG Cyberster, which comes with all-wheel drive (AWD), allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in as fast as 3.8 seconds. Today, they announced another variant for the MG Cyberster that provides rear-wheel drive (RWD), and offers more range at a price of RM299,900.
The MG Cyberster RWD has the same design featuring ‘scissor’ doors, three driving displays, Alcantara leather trim and can be said to be no different from the AWD model. In fact, the battery capacity remains the same at 77 kWh but since it only uses rear-wheel drive, the battery provides a range of 508KM WLTP compared to the AWD model which provides a range of 446KM WLTP.
Another difference for this RWD version is in terms of total drive power of 340 PS and torque of 475 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds. The charging time remains the same, which is AC 7 kW for a full charge time of around 10 hours, and DC 150kW fast charging allows for a fast charge of 10-80% in 38 minutes.
This MG Cyberster RWD is offered at a price of RM299,900 with a warranty of 7 years or 150,000 KM mileage, a battery warranty of 8 years or 180,000 KM mileage, and a motor and drive components warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km mileage. More interestingly, buyers will also receive a subscription to unlimited charging using JomCharge for a year, including the Auto Charge function which allows users to just plug in the charging plug without having to launch the application. Complementing the purchase is a free 7kW charging box.
You can see for yourself the MG Cyberster and all the electric cars they offer at 1 Utama Shopping Centre starting today until 13 July 2025.
