The electric car market is seen as very vibrant this year, based on the number of new models introduced, promotions and price reductions for previous models. The Proton e.MAS 7, which began enlivening the roads early this year, has already recorded a sales record of more than 4,000 units in the period from 1 January to 30 June 2025.
The Proton e.MAS 7, which is sold starting at RM 109,000, is one of the popular choices given its range of 410 KM WLTP, complete with various storage spaces, and even a roof that can be opened. With the new update, users can also launch Apple CarPlay through their inforia system, with Android Auto support coming by the end of this year. Starting this month, they have also started selling the Proton e.MAS 7 with more color options.
During this period, more than 35 dealerships across Malaysia also provided support and maintenance services. In fact, through Proton’s inforia system, there are more than 3,300 charging plugs available, with 1,100 of them being chargers located in high-rise housing. This charging integration also includes 10 charging providers, with the latest ones including Carput Zap, DC Handal, and Shell Recharge.
With the growth of electric car ownership increasing in Malaysia, it also gives a positive sign as Proton is also said to be coming with a more affordable electric car before the end of this year.
