Samsung’s Tri-Fold CPU Details and Announcements Leaked

Samsung has recently launched the latest models in its foldable series, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7.

Now, there are a few details about Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold device, which is yet to be officially named. The first is the “confirmation” that the tri-fold device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same processor that powers the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

This was found in the source code of the OneUI 8 beta software, which shows the text “siop_q7mq_sm8750.”. First, we know that SM8750 is the codename for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Second, the q7mq text is the internal codename for the tri-fold device.

It is also expected to come with a 10-inch display when fully unfolded.

As we reported earlier, TM Roh also said that the device will be introduced this year, but according to the leaker, Samsung is expected to introduce it this October, and the sales will go after that.

Another issue is regarding the availability. There is also information that says that this tri-fold device will only be offered in the South Korean and Chinese markets first. It seems that we will have to wait for more details about it from Samsung soon.
