YouTube to Remove “Trending” Feature, Replaced with “Charts”



The Trending feature on YouTube has been around since 2015, allowing users to see what videos are trending on the site. But YouTube has now said it will discontinue the feature and replace it with the YouTube Charts feature.


In an update shared this morning, YouTube said how viral videos are these days has changed a lot. There are micro-trends based on different topics. The Trending tab will be replaced with charts based on different topics. Among the charts that will be introduced later are or Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Shows, and Trending Movie Trailers.


With this, viewers can see what videos are trending in certain categories. For users who don’t want to see recommended videos based on their viewing history, they can do so through the Explore tab.
