Google Gemini Live was also improved this morning in line with the launch of the Google Pixel 10 series. The virtual assistant with artificial intelligence can now change voice intonation and speed while speaking. For example, if asked about a serious topic, a more calming intonation will be used. Previously, all answers were given with a cheerful intonation that may not be appropriate for the topic being discussed.
Gemini Live users can also instruct it to speak faster or slower. If it is instructed to read steps for repairing damage at home, for example, it needs to be read slowly so that it is easy for the user to follow.
The third feature is that it can be instructed to read storybooks complete with different voice acting for certain characters with more dramatic voice intonation. With all these features, Gemini Live will sound more natural and no longer sound a bit robotic.
When the Gemini Live camera feature is activated, it has the ability to understand what is being looked at. Let's say you are in the supermarket and ask Gemini if it can see a certain brand of ketchup. Gemini will place a white box on the object you are looking for. It can also identify the size of the screw and wrench you need if it sees more than one.
This new feature was launched today but is not yet available on the devices we are using. As usual, the rollout will be gradual.
