HBO Max and Viu today announced a partnership that will allow content from both platforms to be enjoyed on a single plan. It is the first time such a combined plan from two competing streaming platforms has been offered in the Asia Pacific region. It will launch in Q4 2025 for customers in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
The price of the 2-in-1 subscription plan will only be announced after it is launched later. It will allow customers to enjoy content such as The Last of Us, The White Lotus, House of the Dragon from HBO Max and Running Man, 2 Days 1 Night, and Love Has Fireworks from Viu. The plan can be subscribed to via the HBO Max or Viu website or app.
Janice Lee, CEO of Viu was quoted as saying that combining HBO Max’s Hollywood content with Viu’s Asian favorites in one subscription bundle will offer more choice in shows, easier access to diverse content and greater value across a wider range.
