Microsoft Also Fishing Meta AI Employees With Luxurious Rewards

OpenAI, Google, Tesla and Apple lost many employees with artificial intelligence (AI) expertise to Meta because of being lured with luxury. ChatGPT creator Shengjia Zhao reportedly received a $300 million reward from Mark Zuckerberg to move to Meta Superintelligence Labs. Now, reports have emerged that Microsoft is using the same tactic to fish out Meta employees.

According to Business Insider, Microsoft has a list of Meta employees who are considered important for AI development. They are offering salaries of up to $4 million a year and giving the same reward package as Meta to those who agree to migrate to Microsoft. To ensure that Microsoft does not lag behind in the AI war, large investments in employees are willing to be made.

Microsoft's change in direction can be clearly seen this year. Last month, Microsoft laid off around 9,000 employees, 6,000 of whom were involved in software development, with the rest from the Xbox business. AI is believed to be able to replace human tasks and to pursue the AGI pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, large investments are being made in AI.
