Apple filed a lawsuit over the weekend against a former employee who now works at Oppo. In the lawsuit, Apple also accused Oppo of encouraging the former employee to steal as many Apple Watch technology secrets as possible before returning to China.
In a statement to MacRumors, Oppo denied the allegations made by Apple. According to Oppo, they have found no evidence linking Apple's allegations to the employee's behavior while working at Oppo. Oppo also explained that they respect the trade secrets of all companies, including Apple, and do not misuse Apple's trade secrets. Oppo will actively cooperate with the legal process, and is confident that a fair judicial proceeding will clarify the facts.
The employee who is being sued now works at Oppo, using the excuse that he wanted to return to China to take care of his elderly parents. Before quitting Apple, he downloaded 63 files from an Apple folder onto a USB drive. Then he searched the internet on how to erase a MacBook and whether the act of viewing files from a shared drive could be detected by others.
