Quick Share Will Support Sending Files From Android to iPhone

Google Quick Share is a feature similar to Apple's AirDrop that makes it easy to send files on Android and ChromeOS devices. Android Authority reports that Quick Share will soon be able to send files to iPhones as well.

In the latest Google Play Services beta app, there is support for sending files to iPhones. This feature is not yet available, but early indications are that it will be available in the near future. It is not yet known how it will be implemented on Apple devices. Some cross-operating system file transfer features on Chinese-made Android devices require another app to be downloaded on the iPhone before they can be used.

As we previously reported, the European Union (EU) requires Apple to open up AirDrop access to everyone so that the system supports all devices in their market. Apple rejected this request on security grounds. The EU still insists that Apple could be fined if it fails to comply with the order.
