MediaTek introduced its latest flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500, which offers significant improvements in performance and efficiency compared to the previous generation. It is built with 3nm technology and uses a configuration of 1 x Arm C1-Ultra (4.21GHz), 3 x C1-Premium (3.5GHz) and 4 x C1-Pro (2.7GHz).
The Dimensity 9500 offers 55% more efficient peak performance and a 32% increase in single-core performance. It supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage suitable for high-performance devices. The chip is also equipped with the NPU 990, the most powerful AI processor in a smartphone to date.
The Dimensity 9500 enables 4K image generation directly from the device without having to rely on cloud processing. It also supports cameras up to 320MP, 8K60FPS video recording, refresh rates up to 180Hz and a three-fold display for a smoother viewing experience.
The chip uses the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU with a performance increase of up to 33%. It is also the first chip to support 120FPS frame rates with ray tracing and can upgrade 60FPS games to 120FPS. Multitasking efficiency is also improved by 30%, especially when playing games.
The first devices with the Dimensity 9500 chip are expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2025. Oppo and Vivo will be among the first brands to use it in their flagship devices.
