Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that the government has determined the ownership of TikTok in the US, with Oracle, Silver Lake and 16z believed to hold around 80% of the company, with the rest being held by ByteDance.
Recently, it has been reported that several of the country's billionaires, such as the Murdoch children (Rupert and Lachlan) who own Fox Corporation and News Corp and the owner of Oracle, and Michael Dell, CEO of Dell, will also own a stake in TikTok. Larry Ellison, the Chief Technology Officer and owner of Oracle, has also been mentioned, but it is currently unclear whether he will hold TikTok shares privately, separate from Oracle's holdings.
Donald Trump also said that there may be several other individuals who will be involved in equity ownership of TikTok, but has not yet confirmed who these individuals are.
For TikTok users in the United States, they will apparently be able to use TikTok as usual, and will still use ByteDance's algorithm, but with content filters and terms and conditions that will be set by the US owner.
