Uber CEO Targets Robo-Taxis to Replace Ride-hailing Workers in 10 to 15 Years

Uber's CEO is now targeting the increasing use of robo-taxis to replace drivers working as ride-hailing drivers in the next 10 to 15 years. This is expected to lead to a number of economic impacts, especially involving drivers who will lose their jobs.

According to the initial target, human workers and robo-taxis are expected to work together under the Uber network in the next few years, but in the next 10 to 15 years, these drivers are expected to lose their jobs. This also shows that the various gig workers that are the mainstay of services such as Uber, Grab and Foodpanda are expected to be replaced in stages in the coming years.

Grab itself has previously announced investments in technology companies that develop robo-taxis, and aims to introduce them in the region soon.

Changes with technological developments in the robotics and artificial intelligence arenas are expected to have an impact on gig drivers who may not be able to perform other skills and add other skills, thus making it difficult for them in the next 10 to 15 years.
