For some individuals, visiting the night market is a weekly routine that they look forward to. However, one of the challenges they often face is the difficulty in obtaining information regarding the location and operating hours. As a result, many people arrive at the location without certainty, resulting in a waste of time, energy and money.
This situation may change after we discovered a new website called Cari Pasar Malam. This site was shared via a post on LinkedIn and is specially designed to help people find nearby night market locations more easily.
This site lists more than 120 night market locations that operate daily in 13 states throughout Malaysia. The interface looks simple and user-friendly, allowing visitors to search for locations by area and operating day easily and systematically.
Our experiments found that so far, the locations listed on the website are more concentrated around Kuala Lumpur, especially the Klang Valley area. It is likely that other states are still in the process of adding information.
In addition to the name of the market site, this page also displays details such as location, days and hours of operation, current status, number of stalls, site area, facilities provided such as parking and toilets, directions via Google Maps and several other additional information.
At the same time, we also identified several locations that were listed but are actually no longer operating. This matter is likely to be updated from time to time. Interestingly, this page is not only focused on night markets but also includes morning markets.
This discovery also reminds us of the ‘Night Market Malaysia’ application that was reported in 2012. Initiatives like this show continuous efforts in providing convenience to users and supporting local business activities. It is hoped that the developers of this page will continue to improve the content and ensure that the information provided is always up-to-date and relevant.
