New AI Features Introduced for Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Lightroom

In Adobe Max, Adobe has finally launched several artificial intelligence (AI) features that were previously given as beta tests a few months ago. We start with Photoshop which finally has a feature to upgrade the resolution of images up to 56MP through the Generative Upscale feature powered by Topaz Labs' AI model.

Photoshop's Harmonize puts new elements added to the background image in a more realistic way. With the press of a button, shadows and reflections on objects will be produced without the user having to spend time using Dodge and Burn manually.

Generative Fill is now more useful because users can choose third-party models such as Gemini 2.5 Flash Image (Nano Banana) or FLUX.1 Kontext if the Firefly model is not very satisfactory.

For Premiere Pro users, AI Object Mask will separate objects from the background and track them automatically. Users no longer need to do rotoscoping which takes a long time to do manually.

Next, the Firefy application is powered by the new Image Model 5 model which can generate background audio that is compatible with the video generated through Generate Soundtrack. Conversational audio that is compatible with the video is generated with Generate Speech. These two features can be used through the open beta today.

Another feature that can be tested through the open beta is Assisted Culling in Lightroom. AI will identify subjects and objects in the image. Searches based on criteria can be done. If thousands of images are taken, they can be filtered by placing criteria such as open eyes, subjects in the center or no blemishes such as overexposure.

Finally, AI Assistants can be used in beta mode through Adobe Express and Photoshop. It can help edit images by only requiring instructions in the form of text. Not only that, it can also provide more appropriate text suggestions. With AI Assistants, even if you do not have expertise, it is not a barrier to not being able to use Adobe software.
