Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Launch May Be Delayed to March

Korean media outlet The Elec reported last weekend that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series may be delayed to March 2026 instead of the traditional end of January. The delay came after Samsung reportedly canceled the launch of the Galaxy S26 Edge due to the lack of response to the previous Galaxy S25 Edge.

At the last minute, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ had to be developed as a successor device, which took several additional months. Previously, Samsung was believed to be marketing the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge. It is now believed to be replaced by the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+.

Although the Galaxy S25 Edge is a thin and light premium device, sales reception was lower than Samsung's target. The small battery and only dual cameras made it less attractive to the public than other versions.

This is an issue that Apple also faced after the iPhone Air was launched. There have been reports that the iPhone Air did not have high demand with low sales. Leading analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says iPhone Air production has been reduced by up to 80% as it nears the end of its life due to low sales.
