Is the era of thin smartphones about to begin or will it end before it even gets off the ground? Looking at the iPhone Air sales figures, it is clear that the majority of users are not interested in owning a thin device with a small battery. Now, according to a report by South Korean media outlet NewsPim, Samsung has canceled the launch of the Galaxy S26 Edge.
The report quoted an unnamed Samsung executive. The cancellation was made after the Galaxy S25 Edge recorded unsatisfactory sales. The response was less encouraging with a sales ratio of 1:12 compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra and 1:8 sales of the Galaxy S25.
The issues reported by the majority of reviewers are that the Galaxy S25 Edge has a short battery life, slow charging and only dual cameras compared to other devices under the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series next January which now consists of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Plus.
