Sony has stated that they are not interested in acquiring or acquiring Warner Bros Discovery. This was shared upon inquiry to Sony, as Warner Bros Discovery has expressed an open desire to sell the company along with various IPs under them.
So far, it is said that among the interested parties include Apple, Amazon and even Netflix. For Sony, they are not interested in making acquisitions involving Hollywood, instead they want to focus their strength more in the anime and video game arena.
Today alone, Sony is ready to make various acquisitions involving anime, and has various interesting IPs under them – which can be developed into video games or films. Recently, Sony has also acquired a stake in Kadokawa and Bandai Namco.
