Threads introduces a new Communities feature that allows users to discuss selected topics locally. It is very similar to the Community feature in X. There are 100 communities at the initial stage with them discussing topics such as sports, K-pop, TV series, movies and more.
When users join a particular community, a label will be displayed on the profile screen. Thread will provide special emojis that can only be used in that particular community to make membership feel more unique. For users who contribute to the community, they will be given a special badge as a reward.
To use this feature, you just need to do a search for a specific topic. Threads will display communities that you can join if they already exist. New communities will be added from time to time.
