Airbus Recalls Software Update for A320 Aircraft to Avoid Incidents During Flight

Airbus has now issued instructions to operators of its A320 aircraft series. This instruction is seen as a continuation of one of the recent JetBlue flight incidents that caused the flight to lose altitude. Airbus said the incident showed that solar flares or strong solar radiation could affect critical data for flight control functions.

Under Airbus' instructions, they asked all airlines to return their operating software to the previous version, and this must be done before any aircraft can fly again. This step is expected to involve around 6,000 aircraft under the A320 family.

AirAsia also announced that it has started to use the previous version of software on Airbus A320 aircraft starting today. AirAsia said it will complete all related processes within 48 hours, and ensure minimal disruption to customers.

A number of flights from various operators around the world are expected to be affected due to this.
