Last week we reported that Softbank had sold all of its shares in NVIDIA, worth about $5.8 billion, and is said to be investing the proceeds into OpenAI.
Now, it's Peter Thiel's turn, another prominent tech investor, to invest his stake in NVIDIA. Through his company Thiel Macro LLC, he has sold 537,742 shares worth an estimated $100 million (~RM417 million).
This is seen as the second high-profile stock sale that has been made, and raises questions about whether the "AI bubble" related to this technology trend will finally burst.
Looking at the trend of investment announcements, this NVIDIA share sale allows companies like Softbank and Thiel Macro to invest in other AI technology companies. Softbank, for example, is reported to be investing in OpenAI, while Peter Thiel has reportedly begun investing money in AI equipment development companies such as Substrate and AI software development companies such as Mercor and Cognition AI.
