Wikipedia Reported 4.6 Billion Hours Spent by Visitors in 2025 and 20 Most Popular Articles



Wikipedia is still an important repository of information that is freely accessible to anyone. Although this year it is looking to be challenged by Grokipedia, Wiki is still the choice because articles are edited and must have links to valid sources. With 2025 coming to an end, Wikipedia has shared its site statistics and a list of the 20 most popular articles of the year.


Overall, visitors spent 4.6 billion hours reading articles, with 2.4 billion reading articles in English. 984 million unique devices accessed English articles each month. Wikipedia also now supports articles in over 300 languages.


Nearly 67 million articles were edited this year, with 31 million in English. This editing process is carried out by nearly 250,000 editors worldwide with 324 edits made every minute. Below is a list of the 20 articles with the highest number of readers throughout 2025.
