Google Chrome Now Has Gemini Integration and AI Agent

Google Chrome is getting a new special tab feature that integrates Gemini's artificial intelligence (AI) directly into the world's number one web browser. It's a feature that Gemini users have been waiting for since Copilot was first integrated into Microsoft Edge. With Gemini 3 integration, a side tab will open on the right side of the Chrome window. Users can instruct Gemini to summarize long web articles by simply giving commands.

Images found in Google Images can also be edited directly using the same tab using the Nano Banana model. There's no need to download images first, with processing done entirely in Chrome.

There's also Connected Apps integration for Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping and Google Flights. When searching for plane tickets for work, for example, Chrome will look at information contained in Gmail and Calendar to find tickets that meet the user's needs without having to enter additional information. In a few months, Personal Intelligence support will also be provided to Chrome.

For AI Pro and Ultra customers in the United States, they can access web browsing features automatically through the use of AI agents. AI agents will perform tasks such as searching the web for information on behalf of users and, depending on the access granted, completing purchases on their behalf. Finally, Chrome supports the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) which allows AI agents to talk to each other before making online purchases.
