The latest version of the Android operating system is Android 16 which was introduced in 2025. It is offered on a number of new devices on the market, in addition to having started to be offered as an update for previous devices.
According to the latest data released by Google, it is seen that Android 16 is now used on only 7.5% of devices worldwide.
Android 15 is seen to be used the most, covering 19.3% of devices, while Android 14 on 17.2% of devices and Android 13 on 13.9% of devices. Android 10 is still seen to have higher usage than Android 16, covering 7.8% of devices.
As many are aware, various manufacturers still do not offer regular operating system updates to their devices, causing a number of devices not to receive updates. Among those that have started to focus on offering updates include Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Nothing and Google itself through Pixel.
With more new devices promising update support for up to three to five years, we may see these latest Android usage figures change in the coming years.
