Intel’s Most Premium “Arrow Lake Refresh” Model Canceled – Will Focus on Only Two Models

A few months ago, we reported that Intel’s “Arrow Lake Refresh” processor series update would feature three processor models, including the Intel Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.

Recently, it has been reported that one of the models in this update series, the Intel Core Ultra 9 290K, will be canceled, with Intel focusing on the other two models. It was reported that the most premium model was canceled because it came with the same core specifications as the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus (8 Performance cores, 16 Efficiency cores), but with higher processing speeds.

Because of this, Intel may have thought that it would be more worthwhile to only produce the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus chip and allow users to overclock the processor to higher speeds.

This is quite interesting because the chip shows quite impressive performance even when compared to the previous Intel Arrow Lake chips.

This also does not appear to disrupt the production of the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX processor chip for gaming laptops which will also be launched later.
