Kevin O’Buckley Leaves Intel Foundry for Qualcomm – Position to Be Taken Over by Company’s CTO

Kevin O’Buckley, SVP and head of Intel Foundry, recently released a statement saying that he has left Intel Foundry effective immediately and will be joining Qualcomm after just two years leading the subsidiary, which is currently seen as being in the most important phase of the company where their 18A process has just started operations to produce new processor chips such as Intel Panther Lake and soon Nova Lake.

At Qualcomm, he will hold the position of Global Operations and Supply Chain responsible for processor chip production on a global scale, chip production engineering, relationships with manufacturing clients and their components.

With this appointment, it is seen that Kevin O’Buckley will also be in talks with various manufacturing companies and component manufacturers to ensure that Qualcomm’s supply of materials and components is sufficient for them to produce new processor chips without problems.

His position at Intel Foundry will be taken over by Naga Chandrasekaran, Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Intel Foundry who will now be responsible for the development of semiconductor chip manufacturing process technology as well as Intel Foundry’s daily production operations to ensure that their factories are always operating properly for their own production and their clients.

As EVP and CTO for Intel Foundry, Naga Chandrasekaran is already technically responsible for the company, but now it seems that the responsibility will be greater, perhaps until they find a new SVP and general manager who can take over the responsibilities left by Kevin O’Buckley.
