MacBook Reportedly Borrowing Samsung Galaxy S26 Privacy Display Feature

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a new Privacy Display feature that can block certain parts of the screen from being viewed by others. Owners can choose to block only notifications, specific apps, or the entire screen from being viewed by unauthorized people. The Galaxy S26 Ultra hasn't been launched yet, but according to Ice Universe, this feature will be borrowed by Apple.

It won't be used on the iPhone, but rather on the new MacBook, which will use OLED panels for the first time. Like Privacy Display, this feature will prevent the screen from being viewed by anyone other than the owner. Samsung is Apple's largest OLED panel supplier, so it's no surprise that they chose to use the same technology.

However, this feature will only arrive on MacBooks starting in 2029. It's likely because Samsung wants to use Samsung Display's technology exclusively for a few years.
