Selangor Develops Largest Floating Solar Farm Project in Malaysia



The Selangor Chief Minister has now shared more about the Bestari Large-Scale Solar Project, which is the largest floating solar farm in Malaysia. This solar farm covers an area of ​​430 hectares and has a capacity of 300MWac. More than 80% of the project is floating, and the rest is on land.


It is also said that this project is one of the largest in Southeast Asia. When completed and operational, it is expected to generate around 640,000MWh of clean energy per year, which can be used to supply energy to more than 150,000 households.


Construction for this project is expected to be completed in July 2027, and the land is leased to the project manager for this solar energy operation for a period of 21 years. The development measures of this project are also expected to continue to reduce carbon emissions, while at the same time increasing energy security.
