Collaborations between smartphone manufacturers and camera or production companies are not new in the world of technology. For example, vivo has collaborated with ZEISS, Oppo with Hasselblad and Realme with RICOH. Now, Honor has taken a unique step by collaborating with ARRI, a big name in the production of professional cameras for the film industry.
Through this strategic collaboration, Honor aims to bring ARRI’s cinematic standards to a new generation of consumer devices, especially smartphones. By combining mobile imaging capabilities with ARRI’s expertise in cinematic image quality, this collaboration will allow users to produce content with more natural colors, authentic lighting and depth of image that resembles professional film results.
ARRI emphasizes that the main challenge in this collaboration is not to ‘imitate’ film camera hardware but rather to deliver cinematic principles into a compact mobile device that can function in real time. With this approach, the cinematic experience can be brought directly to smartphones without affecting daily use. The first result of this collaboration is expected to be presented through the HONOR ROBOT PHONE which will be launched this year.
