Horizon Worlds VR Will No Longer Be Accessible Using Meta Quest Starting June

Metamesta is now officially no longer the future of Meta after the company announced that accessing the virtual reality (VR) world Horizon Worlds will no longer be possible using the Meta Quest headset starting June 15, 2026. Starting March 31, the world Horizon Worlds will no longer be listed in the Quest Store. Users will also not be able to visit locations such as Horizon Central, Events Arena, Kaiju, and Bobber Bay.

On June 15, 2026, the Horizon Worlds app will be completely removed from Quest. For users who still want to access Horizon Worlds, it will only be possible through the Android and iOS apps from now on. The future of Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest is starting to look bleak after Meta closed several VR game development studios and laid off Meta Reality Labs employees.

There has been no announcement about a new Meta Quest with a focus solely on smart glasses development for the past year. It is an unexpected decision for a company that previously changed its name from Facebook to Meta because it believed that it was the direction of their future and spent tens of billions.
