Wikipedia has updated its writing guidelines for content to now prohibit the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate or rewrite articles. This is a change from the original guidelines which only banned AI from creating new articles.
The decision was made after a vote was held within the Wikipedia editor community with a result of 40 in favor and 2 against. Editors can still use AI as long as it does not add new content or change the original meaning, suggests basic edits to their own writing and edited articles can only be published after human review.
Wikipedia still gives importance to human writers. This is in contrast to Grokipedia which is written entirely by AI Grok.
