Netflix has once again raised its subscription prices in the United States after the last time it did so in January 2025. The subscription price has increased by $1 on the most basic plan with ad support while the Standard and Premium plans have increased by $2.
According to Netflix, the price update was made to allow them to reinvest in quality entertainment and improve the customer experience. The price increase comes at a time when the Middle East crisis has caused fuel and basic necessities prices to skyrocket. It also comes about a month after Netflix pulled out of its purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery and received $2 billion in compensation.
It is not yet known whether subscriptions in other countries will also be increased. The last time subscription prices in Malaysia were increased was in November 2024. The current subscription prices in Malaysia are as follows.
Mobile: RM 18.90 per month
Basic: RM 29.90 per month
Standard: RM 49.90 per month (additional members RM13 per month/month)
Premium: RM 62.90 per month (additional members RM13 per month/month)
