Apple No Longer Processes App Store Payments in Russia

Apple has officially stopped all forms of App Store and Apple Media Services payment processing in Russia starting April 1, 2026. New purchases, in-app purchases (IAPs), and subscription renewals cannot be made unless users have a balance in their Apple Account.

The move comes after an Apple subsidiary was fined £390,000 by the UK government for making payments to Russian companies. Russia has been hit with international sanctions after its invasion of Ukraine. With Apple unable to process payments, Apple Music customers in Russia will no longer be able to make subscriptions. Other services affected include the following:

App Store

Apple Music

Apple TV

Apple Arcade

Apple Fitness+

Apple One

iCloud+

iTunes Store

Ringtone & Tone Store

Apple Podcasts Subscriptions

However, purchased apps and content will still be accessible. Some apps may still be available for update. For iCloud+ customers, they can still manage their storage and download iCloud photos/videos. Data will still be accessible even after the subscription ends.
