At around 2.00am this morning Malaysia time, the Integrity space capsule of the Artemis II mission officially set a new record for the furthest journey ever made by humans from Earth. It traveled around 406,771 km from Earth, breaking the record of 400,171 km from Earth set by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970

As planned, Integrity could not be contacted because it was completely behind the moon for 40 minutes starting from 6:44am to 7:25am. Integrity is now on its way back to Earth which will take four days. In addition to the record for the furthest journey of humans from Earth, the Artemis mission also set a record for the first woman, the first non-white individual and the first non-NASA crew to orbit the moon.
The Artemis II crew has not reported any issues so far with Integrity set to land back on Earth over the Pacific Ocean on April 11, Malaysia time.
