Booking.com, one of the popular sites involving hotel and vacation bookings, has now announced that its user data has been leaked and accessed by third parties. However, Booking.com did not say how many users were affected by this hack.
Among the data accessed were names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, and data related to bookings through the platform.
Booking.com said it has taken steps to control the problem, including updating pin numbers for bookings, and informing its users. However, given the large amount of data leaked, there is a possibility that it could be used for cyberattacks and fraud.
