Google Cast has been around since 2013, making it easy to send content from smartphones to nearby smart TVs. Although the protocol has been around for over a decade, it only started to be supported by Samsung smart TVs using Tizen starting this year.
According to a report by FlatpanelsHD, Google Cast will start to be supported on Samsung smart TVs from 2026 models first. TV models from 2025 and 2024 will also receive support via firmware update v2115 or later in stages. Support for older TV models has not yet been announced.
Google Cast support has long been requested by Samsung TV owners but has not been granted. In fact, Apple AirPlay support arrived earlier, back in 2019. Although TVs for regular consumers have only just received Google Cast, it has been supported on Samsung hotel TVs since last year.
