Since the Honor 600 Pro was first introduced as a flagship device, I started wondering if this was the space for the brand to balance style with function.
When I first saw and held it, it reminded me of the fruit brand that is often used as a reference in the modern smartphone world today, and I think you know what I mean here. However, upon closer inspection, small differences begin to appear that make it still have its own identity despite the minimal differences. In short, at first glance it may seem similar, but in reality it is not the same.
The experience made me clearer about the design direction that Honor is trying to take this time. In addition, the flatter sides and neatly arranged cameras basically give a more practical feel compared to the previous curved models. In addition, I can see how Honor is trying to combine elements that have been successfully used in several mid-range models with a new, more contemporary touch on this device.
As mentioned earlier, it is not difficult to see where Honor got its inspiration from. This is because the flat edges around the device, as well as the vertically aligned cameras, are clearly reminiscent of the iPhone 17. However, this is not a negative thing because users can hope that the Honor 600 Pro will be offered at a lower price than Apple devices. In addition, it also feels premium in the hand, thus providing a satisfying user experience.
Next, the Honor 600 Pro also comes with a more prominent modern aura than previous models, especially the Pro version. Its now flat design and camera layout give it a neat contemporary touch. This difference is clear when compared to the Honor 400 Pro which uses a curved build as its main identity.
Another thing I can say is that it feels closer to the style of the standard Honor 400 and Honor 400 Lite that I have tried before. Finally, the first experience of holding it gave me a clear idea of the design direction that this brand wants to highlight, which is simple, neat and practical for everyday use.
I myself have no problem with this color choice, just like the previous experience that I have emphasized in several other reviews. In terms of construction, at first glance it feels quite sturdy and good, in line with what most modern devices offer today. Furthermore, the rear glass panel gives a satin-like feel that is comfortable to the touch. Although the surface is quite dull and a little slippery, this still depends on how the device is used.
Next, the Honor 600 Pro comes with an elongated camera bump that houses three lenses in a triangular arrangement, while the third lens looks more oval than round like the fruit brand uses on their latest devices. This difference may seem small at first glance, but when observed more closely, it is clearly visible. Furthermore, there is a black circle and the position of the LED flash that is almost the same as the brand, thus making the similarity easier to see.
Another thing I found is that this camera bump is not too high. In addition, this device also has a good balance because it is not too light and not too heavy. In fact, it also feels balanced from all parts including the top, bottom and camera bump. In addition, the flatter design used this time is felt to not only produce a more modern look, but also make the camera bump look more modest compared to last year's Pro version which was quite large.
The standard button arrangement shows a position that is familiar with several of their devices. On the right side there are three buttons, namely the power button, audio adjustment and another additional camera button. As far as my experience using it, there was no problem because the buttons felt sturdy and pleasant to press. Interestingly, the camera button which is now better known as the AI button works smarter, thus adding value to the overall user experience.
For now, no internal hardware details can be revealed including the screen size, processing chip, battery capacity and other important components. Stay tuned for the full review because it will definitely be interesting to test the brightness capability of up to 8000 nits, in addition to evaluating the performance of the device which is said to use the latest flagship Snapdragon chip. In any case, my first impression is very positive, especially in terms of finish and design.
In terms of price, it is expected that there will be a slight increase as Honor is seen adding a number of new features to this model, while maintaining a modern style. In my initial opinion, the Honor 600 Pro has the potential to attract many users to try and own it. Honor itself also made a statement that the device may experience a slight price increase but this is expected to be in line with the improvements offered.
