As a fan of the video game Metal Gear Solid, I have been waiting for a film adaptation of it since Hideo Kojima's amazing debut in 2006. Two decades have passed and no film has hit the silver screen while Hideo Kojima has passed away from Konami.
This morning The Hollywood Reporter reported that Sony is developing a Metal Gear Solid movie with the involvement of directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. The two previously directed the film Final Destination: Bloodlines. The project was just announced without information about the cast, storyline, or target release date.
Previously, there were rumors that Oscar Isaac, who starred in the films Star Wars, Dune Part One and X-Men : Apocalypse, was interested in playing the lead role of Solid Snake. This was when director Jordan Vogt-Robert was reported to be interested in producing the movie. The creative team has changed several times and we as fans still have to 待たせたな (Mataseta na) for this movie to become a reality.
