WhatsApp for Apple CarPlay is now offered with an official app compatible with car infotainment systems. Previously only available in beta, it is now available to all users after updating WhatsApp for iOS version 26.13.74 on the App Store.
This app allows users to send messages, make calls and access favorite contacts directly from the car dashboard when the iPhone is connected. The new interface is also designed to minimize distractions so that drivers can stay focused on the road.
The new app provides three main tabs that are easy to understand. The first tab is the chat list that allows users to see the latest messages without having to open the entire conversation, thus reducing distractions while driving.
Next, the second tab is the call history that displays a list of incoming, outgoing and missed calls complete with contact names and past ones, making it easier for users to manage communications more organized. Finally, the third tab is the favorite contacts that are synchronized with the favorite list on the iPhone, thus allowing users to start calls or messages faster
Previously, users only relied on Siri, which often caused difficulties because voice commands were easily misinterpreted and there was no chat or call history display. With the official app, the experience becomes easier. At the same time, all messages and calls remain protected with end-to-end encryption to ensure user privacy is always maintained.
