Two sets of data allegedly containing customer information of Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) and United Overseas Bank (UOB) banks in Malaysia have been leaked via a dark web. The information from OCBC reveals phone numbers, email addresses, banking information, MyKad numbers, driving license information and business registration data.
The authenticity of the leaked data is still yet to be confirmed. OCBC has also not yet issued any official statement about their systems being hacked by hackers at the time of writing. The data was uploaded to a data selling forum last night.
Meanwhile, the data allegedly belonging to UOB customers consists of bank names, bank account numbers and timestamps of access. Unlike the OCBC data, no data containing customer names or transaction records is included in the leaked files. Like OCBC, UOB has also yet to issue a statement confirming that their systems were hacked.
