Brembo brakes are synonymous with F1 racing cars and Moto GP motorcycles. In short, if you want a high-performance braking system, Brembo is the choice of professional racing teams. Now Brembo is entering the braking arena for mountain bike (MTB) racing and has started selling their brake system kits to everyone.
Last year they released an MTB brake system for Specialized Bicycles’ Gravity Team. The Brembo GR-Pro kit they offer is designed for MTB bikes, downhill bikes and eMTBs. It is offered with 200-mm and 220-mm brake discs with a thickness of 2.3-mm and brake calipers made of alloy. Special brake pads have been developed specifically for MTB use for optimal grip.
The brake discs are designed to dissipate heat quickly while the brake fluid used offers consistent braking in a variety of temperature situations. The entire brake system kit (without discs) is on sale for €750 (~RM 3470) starting in July but is currently only available in Europe.
