Google Now Introduces Limits on Gemini Usage

After offering unlimited usage for Gemini since its launch, now with over 900 million active users using it every month, Google has finally introduced limits on Gemini usage.

The full limit is not specified by Google, but Gemini will update the usage limit every 5 hours until a user reaches their weekly usage limit. Google says that this limit is based on the complexity of a prompt or command used, as well as the desired output.

As usual, image generation will use a higher limit, as well as access to reasoning and others.

Google says that AI Plus offers double the usage limit compared to free users, while AI Pro offers 4 times, and AI Ultra offers up to 20 times higher usage limits. The measure of introducing these limits is also to ensure the continuity of operations without burdening Google's servers, while at the same time increasing the rate of paid users for Google AI.
