Design
The design of the OPPO find X9 Ultra caught my attention when I first saw it, especially for the Tundra Umber color option. The design that OPPO brought was inspired by the Hasselblad X2D 100C Earth Explorer Edition camera. The back panel uses leather that does not easily trap fingerprints. This is a good approach taken by OPPO by using a design inspired by the Hasselblad camera because it continues to make this device fit the Ultra name.
The camera module design on this Ultra model is also different from the previous Pro model. It uses a rounded module design called Master Lens Design even though this design looks the same as some competing devices so you may not be able to distinguish this device when the frame is installed. The camera bump is also quite thick but I don't mind because it contains very powerful camera hardware.
The entire body is also boxy and very comfortable to hold. The frame on the side uses aluminum with a matte finish while the button position is similar to the Find X9 Pro except the camera button gets an exclusive touch of Hasselblad orange.
Screen
If you want the best screen on a device, I'm sure the Find X9 Ultra will not disappoint you. After 2 weeks of use I can't find any flaws in the Find X9 Ultra screen. It is equipped with an AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. For refresh rates, it can reach up to 144Hz but only in some games and for normal use it is still from 0-120Hz with the use of an LTPO panel.
Outdoor use also does not present any issues because the brightness is quite high so there is no problem for taking pictures under sunlight. The color reproduction on this screen is also accurate because it has 100% DCI-P3 and also 10-Bit so for photo editing, video or just serving content on social media everything will look beautiful. In terms of screen protection, OPPO provides the highest quality through the use of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Software
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra uses ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 right out of the box. The user experience is still more or less the same as the ColorOS I used on the Reno15F and this shows that OPPO provides consistent performance for all their devices. Everything feels very smooth on this Ultra device from OPPO, both in terms of animation or opening and closing applications.
The interface on ColorOS looks cheerful and there are various customizations that can be made according to the user's wishes. I also like this software from OPPO because it does not make you clumsy to navigate in ColorOS even if you are using it for the first time.
One feature that caught my attention is in AI Mind Space where you can ask any question and choose the AI you like because there is a choice between Gemini, Perplexity or ChatGPT, in fact you can choose all three at once and compare their answers. There are several other interesting AI features such as AI Bill Manager to manage expenses and also AI Menu Translation which is suitable for use when traveling.
However, the issue with bloated applications has not completely disappeared, only the applications available as soon as you turn on this device are not as many as those on their mid-range devices and the applications available are also mostly daily applications that are always used.
Performance
As an Ultra device, OPPO delivers the best performance through the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip combined with the use of 16GB of memory and UFS 4.1 storage options up to 1TB. The performance at the beginning of use is as expected with the most powerful chip for Android, it is able to perform any task with ease.

If you look at the benchmark scores, you really don't need to worry about the performance that this device can provide. I can say that, do any task on this device it can still provide a very fast and satisfying experience. Memory management is also very good with the help of 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM because I didn't feel anything.
If there is one thing that is not good that I can say is the heat management on this OPPO Find X9 Ultra. During prolonged gaming sessions or heavy tasks such as editing photos, the heat level is not that noticeable, but when using the camera, it quickly gets hot, especially when taking photos under bright sunlight.
However, this does not affect the performance of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra during the photo taking session because there is no warning that comes out when the device is heating up and the device does not slow down, it will only affect your experience a little when taking photos.
Camera
Priority should be given to the OPPO Find X9 Ultra camera system. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra camera system is equipped with a 200MP f/1.8 main lens, a 200MP telephoto periscope lens with 3x optical zoom, another 50MP telephoto periscope lens that has 10x optical zoom capabilities and a 50MP ultra-wide lens as a complement. The selfie lens is also 50MP.
The camera capabilities of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra are truly amazing. The image results look very sharp and beautiful, especially if you use the 200MP Hi-Res mode. I actually prefer this Hi-Res mode because the image is not overly processed with AI compared to the normal mode. The Hasselblad colors can still be seen clearly because they look concentrated, but there are still several filters available for you to experiment with.
The zoom capability with the telephoto lens on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra continues to be my favorite. With a combination of two different telephoto lenses that can provide 3x and 10x optical zoom, it adds more zoom flexibility to this device. At the beginning of use, I found that the 10x zoom was a bit soft after processing. However, after getting a software update, this problem was immediately resolved. In terms of color and sharpness, it still looks good, but the image will be processed for about 2-3 seconds.
I also had the opportunity to use this OPPO Find X9 Ultra with a 300mm teleconverter lens. With the addition of this accessory, it further increases the zoom capabilities of this device. I like this lens because it can provide compression which makes the image results look more interesting. In terms of color production, it can be said that it is still like the telephoto lens on this device without significant differences. One problem with this accessory is that it is too big that I think it is not practical to use it all the time.
OPPO also focuses on video quality where this device supports recording up to 8K 30FPS and 4K 120FPS. For professional users, the 10 Bit LOG video feature is also provided to provide more freedom for wide creativity.
Battery and Charging
The battery capacity in the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is 7050 mAH with Silicon Carbon technology. This battery capacity is not too surprising because from the previous Find X9 series, OPPO has also provided a large capacity but is slightly different in terms of charging where it supports 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging wired and 50W wirelessly.
In terms of battery life, you don't need to worry because this device can really last a day without problems. With heavy use such as taking a lot of photos and videos in a day, it can still provide SOT of around 9 hours which for me is quite amazing. Recharging the device also doesn't take long because in under 40 minutes it is full from 30% of the remaining battery.

As a conclusion to this review, I can feel that the OPPO Find X9 Ultra can challenge and compete well with the Ultra devices on the market. The offer provided is quite attractive especially in terms of camera capabilities. It can be said that this is a smart device disguised as a camera.
As the best device from OPPO, the price offered for this device can also be said to be in line with the capabilities of this device itself. With a starting price of RM6799, I feel this is a worthwhile offer if you are a true photography enthusiast and want all the professional features offered by the OPPO Find X9 Ultra.
