OpenAI is now reportedly not very happy with their collaboration with Apple in integrating ChatGPT into Apple's software offerings, and is considering taking legal action against Apple.
For your information, Apple previously announced a collaboration with OpenAI, in enabling ChatGPT to be integrated directly into iPhones and Macs, making it easier for users of these devices to easily access it when needed. However, the feature was not properly promoted by Apple, and this collaboration, which was initially aimed at bringing high user numbers and revenue to OpenAI, did not happen.
In addition, Apple recently announced a collaboration with Google in developing artificial intelligence support for Siri, rather than with OpenAI. Apple is also reportedly working on integrating access support for other artificial intelligence models, which will cause OpenAI to lose their exclusive rights and access through Apple devices.
At the same time, Apple is said to have their own concerns about OpenAI, including their privacy standards, in addition to OpenAI's move to enter the device arena that is seen as competing with Apple.
At this time, it is unknown whether OpenAI will file a lawsuit against Apple or will simply cancel the contract and settle it out of court.
