UGreen Charger and Power Bank Review – Your Compact Charging Partner

UGreen is a brand of smart device and laptop charging accessories that is no stranger to Malaysians with a wide range of charging offerings for various types of uses.

Recently, we were given the opportunity to try out and review some of their latest charging offerings, including the UGreen 10K mAH Fast Charging Power Bank and the UGreen Nexode Pro charger.

UGreen 10K mAH Fast Charging Power Bank

As the name suggests, the UGreen 10K mAH Fast Charging Power Bank is a power bank that comes with a charging capacity of 10,000 mAH in a compact size. In terms of plug options, it comes with one USB 3.2 Type-C plug and one USB 3.2 Type-A plug.

It also comes with a built-in USB 3.2 Type-C cable that can be used as a “cable” for this power bank, and comes with a fast charging capability of 45W for most smart devices, and up to 55W specifically for Xiaomi devices.

Meanwhile, it also comes with a digital display that allows you to see the battery charging percentage and the charging speed that is being done. If you are charging on all three plugs offered, this display will display all of them.

UGreen says that the built-in cable on their power bank comes with charging support of up to 45W, and specifically for Xiaomi-branded devices, this power bank can charge those devices at a charging rate of up to 55W.

In our own experience using this power bank, we have seen that the charging rate for non-Xiaomi devices rarely charges at a rate of 45W. Yes, it can reach that rate, but typically, even with devices that support fast charging, we can only see it at 30-35W.

However, the charging for Xiaomi devices is accurate, showing 55W charging in the early and mid-charge phases, and will slow down as it approaches 100 percent.

The recharging rate of this power bank also seems to be the same as the device charging, around 30-35W, and in our experience, it takes 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes to charge from empty to full. For me, this is a good charging rate for a power bank like this, where it is not too slow, and does not get too hot when charging.

Its compact size also makes it easy to store in various types of bags, be it backpacks or handbags, and comes with a charging rate fast enough to allow your smart devices to be used even after only 10 to 15 minutes of charging.

What's in the Box

Here's what's in the box when you buy the UGreen 10K mAH Fast Charging Power Bank:

1x UGreen 10K mAH Fast Charging Power Bank

1x USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable

1x lanyard

UGreen Nexode Pro

UGreen Nexode Pro is an electronic device charger model with a charging capacity of up to 100W, which is powerful enough to charge not only multiple smart devices at once, but also powerful enough to charge your thin and light class laptop, such as Apple MacBook Air, Microsoft Surface Pro or ASUS ZenBook if you have one.

The UGreen Nexode Pro charger comes with five charging plugs consisting of four USB 3.2 Type-C plugs and one USB 3.2 Type-A charging plug. The first to third USB Type-C plugs (C1-C3) come with a combined support of up to 100W in total, while the fourth USB Type-C plug comes with up to 30W charging. The USB Type-A plug also comes with a charging rate of up to 22.5W.

Just like the previous power bank, the Nexode Pro charger also comes with a built-in screen display that will show the charging rate of your device based on the plug used to charge.

The use of GaN technology on this charger helps this charger to not only charge up to 100W, but also allows it to stay warm and operate at an optimal rate throughout the charging time.

In terms of charging, the UGreen Nexode Pro accessory has no issues, but in my opinion, there are two suggested additions that for me, allow this accessory to be even more useful.

The first is the addition of an adapter plug for charging in countries that use different charging heads. The Nexode Pro charger is an accessory that is very suitable for charging both types of devices at once, and there is no better purpose than to reduce the burden of the accessory when you are abroad.

The second is that this charging accessory does not have a charging cable in the box. A USB Type-C or Type-A charging cable will need to be purchased separately, and to maximize charging rates
