The presence of the Xiaomi 17 Max was first revealed through official promotional images on Weibo. This device will be offered in three color options, namely blue, white and black. Among the three, the black finish looks more prominent with a carbon-like design with striped motifs on the back.
There is no official confirmation but there is viral information that mentions a combination of premium materials such as ceramic or a carbon fiber-style finish may be used for the version in question. Also visible is the square-shaped camera bump with Leica branding that is synonymous with Xiaomi.
The use of the MAX name itself already gives the impression that the device emphasizes a large-screen flagship experience. In fact, Xiaomi representatives also emphasized that the Max model is a “fully upgraded” version compared to the Xiaomi 17 and not just a phone with a larger screen.
The Xiaomi 17 Max will come with a 6.9-inch flat display that uses a design similar to the Xiaomi 15 series. The phone is also expected to come with an 8000mAh battery which has the potential to be the largest capacity ever offered on a Xiaomi smartphone. Charging support is also expected to include 100W wired and 50W wireless.
The camera system is also expected to receive an upgrade, including a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP-series main sensor paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The mainstays could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, LPDDR5X-based memory, and UFS 4.1 internal storage. No official launch date has been revealed at this time.
