Intel Expected to Introduce “Raptor Lake Next” Chip Series with DDR4 Memory Support in Early 2027

If you are thinking about building or buying a new desktop or laptop computer, you may want to wait until next year when Intel is expected to introduce a new update to the previous generation processor series, namely the Intel Raptor Lake Next based on the processor series launched in late 2023.

Several reports have announced that Intel is seen to show a new update to the processor series, which will interestingly be labeled under the name Intel Core Ultra 200 which is currently used for the Intel Arrow Lake and Arrow Lake Refresh processor series.

This update is apparently done because the supply of DDR5 memory is still a big issue for consumer computers, and the use of the Intel Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh processor series is still very widespread regardless of whether for desktop computers or laptops.

The Intel Raptor Lake Next processor series will also come with support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory types, depending on user needs. For desktop computers, the Raptor Lake Next processors will continue to use the LGA-1700 socket motherboards used in previous Intel Raptor Lake models.

So far, not much is known about the configuration of these processors. In fact, this series of processors will probably only be introduced in early 2027, after the upcoming Intel Nova Lake series of processors is introduced.

It is currently unknown how Intel will differentiate the Intel Arrow Lake/Arrow Lake Refresh and Intel Raptor Lake Next processor offerings using the same model name.
