Effective 1 July 2026, all banks have agreed to waive the RM1 charge for cash withdrawals via ATM machines nationwide. With this move, all bank debit card holders can withdraw cash at any of the 14,000 ATMs nationwide without any charges.
This will make it easier for consumers to withdraw money without worrying about additional charges imposed via ATM machines. This exemption is also expected to reduce the burden, while at the same time ensuring continuous access to cash.
At the same time, the bank also stated that it will continue to promote the use of cashless among the community, in addition to the use of digital payments.
