NVIDIA and SK Hynix this morning announced a long-term collaboration to develop next-generation memory specifically for use in global artificial intelligence (AI) factories and to accelerate semiconductor design and manufacturing processes.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said that next-generation memory is the stage for AI factory performance and SK Hynix is a key partner in NVIDIA’s AI computing platform. Meanwhile, SKY Hynix chairman Chey Tae-won said that this collaboration allows the two companies to shape the future of AI infrastructure together
For NVIDIA, this collaboration will ensure a stable supply of memory for upcoming products. Meanwhile, SK Hynix will coordinate memory supply according to NVIDIA’s infrastructure direction and global AI needs. The resulting memory will be used in NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin AI supercomputer, NVIDIA Vera CPU, NVIDIA RTX Spark-powered PCs and NVIDIA Jetson Thor robotics platform.
