Phone calls are usually recorded using a dedicated app or with the phone's built-in system. But with the Nothing Ear (3a), an earphone finally has the ability to record calls directly.
The earphones feature larger 12mm audio drivers compared to the 11mm of the previous model. Nothing says the result is a stronger bass sound. There's built-in support for high-resolution audio, LDAC and spatial audio. Eight EQ settings are included via the app. Another improvement is the improved ANC system up to 45dB which is 17% better.
The Audio Snapshot feature records audio to the Ear (3a)'s 32MB built-in memory and is activated by pressing both buttons on the stem simultaneously. Up to 2 hours of recording can be done with each recording being up to 60 seconds long. Transcription can then be done automatically.
Each bud can operate for up to 10 hours without ANC or 6 hours with ANC. This increases to 42 or 25 hours with the help of the charging pod. Just 5 minutes of charging can offer up to 1 hour of use.
Tethering is via Bluetooth 6.0 allowing for connection to up to two devices. Fast tethering via Google Fast Pair is provided along with a low latency mode. Both the earphones and pods pass the IP54 waterproof and dustproof standards.
The Nothing Ear (3a) is offered in black, white, yellow and pink like the Headphone (a) at a price of $99 (~RM 403) each.
