Tencent Reportedly Interested in Becoming Manus' Largest Shareholder

Manus is a Singapore-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm that was later acquired by Meta for $2 billion by the end of 2025. But the purchase of Manus was opposed by China because it was seen as an attempt to sell the country's AI assets since the company was originally founded in the country. As a result, Meta was ordered to sell its stake in the company with some of Manus' early investors reportedly interested in taking over the company.

Today, it emerged that Chinese technology giant Tencent is among those interested in becoming Manus' largest shareholder after it was acquired, according to a Reuters report. In addition to Tencent, ZhenFund and HSG are also interested in becoming shareholders in the company, according to several internal sources. Today's report confirms rumors heard earlier.

Manus has millions of users with AI that can perform various tasks such as document management, graphics production and. offering AI agents. Meta is acquiring the company to expand the company's portfolio and AI capabilities that are being developed to offer "personal artificial intelligence" according to Mark Zuckerberg.
